Background/History: SH Wiki
Personality:
[[Note: Silent Hill is a very touchy subject of debate when it comes to certain characters, Lisa among them. Therefore it’s important to point out this is my interpretation.]]

Lisa Garland is a young woman who’s not always as she appears. She’s a hometown girl, born and raised in Silent Hill; taking up the family tradition and going into nursing. The kind of woman that you feel comfortable around, lending a smile and a hand to those who need it.

Behind that smile is a much more troubled girl.

Lisa was trapped in her own life, but what held her back were her own co-dependency issues. After starting work at Alchemilla Hospital, Lisa became addicted to the drug PTV to handle the stress, which was distributed by the hospital director Kaufman. The more that was pushed on her, the more dependent she became on the drug. The drug had the side effect of causing memory loss and manic behavior, making her all the more desperate to get her fix. Her need for the drug was why she continued to care for Alessa, even though treating the girl was having serious psychological effects on Lisa. Continuously changing puss drenched bandages, the combination of the drugs and the power seeping from Alessa causing her to see insects, feeling sick to the point of vomiting, Lisa had all the reasons she needed to want to get out of there. But Kaufman threatened to cut off her supply, trapping Lisa in her torment until she eventually died of an overdose.

Ask doctor to let me quit being in charge of that patient.

It's too weird.

Still alive, but with wounds that won't heal.

Told the doctor I quit. Won't work at that hospital anymore.

The room is filled with insects. Even with doors and windows shut they get in to spite me.

To the Hospital...

Feeling bad. Need to throw up. But nothing comes out. Vomiting only bile. Blood and pus flow from the bathroom faucet. I try to stop it, but it won't turn off.

Need drug.

Help me...

Yes, Lisa is dead. It’s unknown how long prior to the events of the first game, but it is clear Lisa had been suffering for a time. The Lisa that’s seen in the game isn’t the ‘real’ Lisa, but rather how Alessa remembered her. While Lisa hated treating the young girl, Alessa, whose body and mind were ravaged because of something her mother and those around her did to her, saw genuine affection from the nurse as one of the few people that still cared for her.

So, when her other half, Cheryl, returns to Silent Hill and the power of the God grew strong enough to seep into the reality of the town, only a select few were spared from this twisted reality. Dahlia Gillespie, Dr. Kaufmann, Cybil Bennet, and Harry Mason were under Alessa’s protection from the God’s powers. Lisa was brought back by this power, but instead of becoming a Puppet Nurse like all the others, the Lisa seen was Alessa’s projection of the nurse to act as a guide for Harry. This Lisa acts much like how Alessa saw her: a kind woman who was willing to help. Alessa saw that Lisa was sick but did not know why, and so this Lisa experienced mild stomach aches. The illusion isn’t perfect; much of her memory is scattered, as she has no idea how she got trapped inside the hospital. Alessa is never mentioned in conversation, and Lisa is instinctually afraid to leave the room she’s found in. If she leaves the room or question too much, Alessa’s illusion breaks down and reveals that Lisa was the same as the other monsters.

”No…somehow I feel I’m not supposed to leave this place.”

“But while I was down there, I got this weird feeling. Like I’ve been there before. Like something happened there but I can’t quite remember it. What was it? Harry! Help me… I’m so scared, I can’t take this.”

She’s frightened, much like how anyone else would be in that same situation. She’s trapped in a nightmare alone and her only connection to the world Harry is on his own search and cannot care for only Lisa. When Harry is gone, Lisa has no other purpose, and so is left feeling empty. She becomes more and more curious about what is going on exactly. The longer she is left as this, the more the original Lisa seeps through.

Abilities/Powers:
Any powers of her own? None. The illusion cast on her is of Alessa’s doing and should Lisa ever stray, she’ll be revealed as the undead monster that she truly is.

Lisa is a licensed nurse, so she does have a great deal of knowledge on first aid and basic care.
